About this town

Rockleigh is a borough of 406 people, and almost everything about it is an exception. It operates no school, so its children attend Northvale’s. Its 110-acre corporate park holds Crestron’s headquarters, on a street still named Volvo Drive after a tenant that moved to Mahwah in 2020. Bergen County’s only 27-hole golf course is here. There were no home sales in the borough at all in 2025, which is why most of the figures the other seven towns carry simply do not exist for this one.

  • 406 residents and about 75 residential properties in the whole borough
  • Rockleigh Corporate Park covers 110 acres, laid out to keep clear of the residential lanes
  • Rockleigh Golf Course, on Paris Avenue, is Bergen County's only 27-hole course
  • No school, no NJ Transit bus, no commuter bus and no train

Before you decide

What people wish they knew

  • Too small for reliable statistics. The Census publishes no median household income for Rockleigh, and most of its other estimates carry margins of error of 40 to 60%.
  • There were no home sales in the borough in 2025, so there is no honest price range to quote.
  • A non-operating school district: pupils attend Northvale Public School, then Northern Valley Regional at Old Tappan.
  • The average tax bill is $13,615 at an effective rate of 0.871%, less than half that of any other town of the eight. A 110-acre corporate park in a borough of 75 houses will do that.
  • No bus of any kind serves the borough. The nearest train is Emerson, about 5.2 miles away.
